Description

Tabor Academy is an ambitious and supportive boarding school community where students in grades 9-12 take risks, challenge themselves, and prepare to lead at our school by the sea. Everything about Tabor is captured within three categories: aspirations, adventures, and anchors. Tabor’s students are highly aspirational. Students plan their academic and co-curricular trajectory to set intentions for a fulfilling experience. Tabor’s environment infuses the curriculum with adventure. From orientation aboard our 92 foot schooner to our global travel opportunities, there is an appropriate adventure for every interest. Tabor provides each student with many anchors. Relationships, traditions, and a sense of place like no other make Tabor itself the greatest anchor of all. As the “school by the sea,” Tabor sustains a unique maritime heritage that embodies the qualities a seagoing life requires: thoughtful preparation for and awareness of the wider world, perseverance, courage, good humor, direction, and humility.

Unique Characteristics

The SSV Tabor Boy schooner provides hands-on, at-sea experiences for new students and marine biology student researchers.
