Description

Since 1869, Stoneleigh-Burnham School has empowered students to pursue meaningful lives based on honor, respect, and intellectual curiosity. Nestled in the picturesque Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts, our vibrant campus hosts 130 boarding and day students, fostering multi-dimensional growth, nurturing aspirational leaders, and cultivating community engagement. At SBS, students are encouraged to bring big ideas, and we give them room to soar. That’s the power of a Stoneleigh-Burnham education.

Unique Characteristics

We also have four signature highlight areas that separate us from other independent schools.

  • The Learning Center Program is at the heart of our academic support. Students enter the program with an individualized academic plan and move through the program to sustainable academic success.
  • International Baccalaureate: We are the first and now the only New England girls school to offer the International Baccalaureate diploma programme.
  • Debate and Public Speaking Society: Our world class Debate and Public Speaking Society consistently sends students to the world individual debate & public speaking competition. For over twenty years, SBS students have qualified for world competition, including 2023 where our student ranked #1 in the US and #10 in the world.
  • Nationally Competitive Equestrian Program: Our equestrian program is available to novice as well as the most experienced riders. In addition to our excellent riding training, the horsemanship education the students receive sets us apart from other schools. We regularly send students to Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) national competition.
