Founded in 1813, Kimball Union Academy (KUA) is an institution rooted in history, yet unbound by tradition. We are guided by a mission to prepare students for the challenges of tomorrow’s world by inspiring academic mastery, creativity, responsibility, and leadership. KUA is a place where you can be you and where you will feel an immediate sense of belonging. Understanding who you are and how you learn is at the core of KUA Design, our unique approach to education. Through KUA Design, we remove barriers to learning and tap into your natural strengths, all while preserving the cognitive challenges and rigor that are key to academic achievement. Our exceptional faculty, coaches, and college counselors will prepare you for productive and meaningful lives in college and beyond. KUA is also rooted in place-based education, which extends our classroom into our surrounding environment. Our 1,200-acre campus sits in the heart of New Hampshire’s scenic Upper Valley, home to Dartmouth College, which offers rich and diverse cultural and recreational opportunities for all KUA students.
Unique Characteristics
Kimball Union Academy’s Arts, STEM, and Global Scholar Programs prepare students for lives of leadership in areas of critical importance. Working closely with faculty, students explore a passion or interest through a two-year course of study. Each program combines coursework, community service, and experiential learning that culminates in a Senior Capstone project.
The Gosselin Learning Center supports a rich variety of learners through individualized support to help them excel in a college-preparatory curriculum and thrive in a transformative high-school setting.
